100 Marks
This class offers 100 different ways to make marks. Through a variety of materials and techniques, including non-traditional tools and everyday objects, you'll discover new ways to create marks that are an extension of who you are.
Welcome
A blank page can be intimidating. It asks you to have an idea, a direction, a reason to begin.
Marks ask for none of that. They just ask you to start.
This class is an invitation to play, to pick up whatever is within reach and see what it leaves behind. No rules, no right answers, no pressure to make something beautiful. Just the childlike joy of making a mark and seeing what happens next.
What We'll Make
We'll work through 100 different ways to make marks, using paint, tools, found objects, natural materials, and things you'd never think to pick up. By the end, you'll have tried a whole range of ideas.
Some of these will become part of your practice. Some won't resonate at all. Both outcomes are exactly right.
No rules. No pressure.
Just freedom, curiosity, and play.
It All Starts with a Single Mark

Who is This Class For?
This class is for you if...
You feel stuck or blocked and want some playful ways back into making
You are a beginner who wants to loosen up and build confidence with materials or are looking for new tools to add to your practice
You want to feel like a child again: curious, playful and unafraid to experiment
What Will You Need?
Almost nothing. A small journal or sheets of paper. One colour of acrylic paint, even just one, so the focus stays on the marks rather than colour. Whatever objects you can find around your home.
I am not one to buy fancy art supplies. I use what I have and what I find, and I let what I have inspire what I can create. You can do the same.
Why This Class Matters
Mark making is like stretching before a run. It loosens the body and the mind. It builds confidence, creates flow and reminds you that making something doesn't have to be precious or planned.
Every mark you make is an extension of who you are. This class helps you find out which ones are yours.
