Altering a Board Book
This class is all about the art of altering children's board books to create unique, one-of-a-kind artist books. You'll learn how to prepare your substrate, master the art of collaging, and gain insights into composition choices. It's an opportunity to craft a versatile object that can be customized with your own creativity, paper choices, and stories, and the principles you'll acquire can be applied to any imaginative creation you dream of.
Welcome
I found my first board book in a charity shop for 0.20 pence and I decided I would alter it my way.
What followed was a satisfying and manageable creative projects, small enough to finish in a few days, and I've been making them ever since, and now I want to share my process with you.
What We'll Make
We'll take a small used children's board book and transform it into a unique, one-of-a-kind artist book, collaged throughout with vintage papers, photographs and found ephemera.
The result is a compact, beautiful object that is entirely yours.
