On the cover I engraved the name ‘Shorty’, a nod to the clown who once owned this book. The book structure is my own design, and the pages expand into a sculptural form, unfolding like a miniature circus tent.

Thick and bursting with colours, this book feels timeworn, as though it’s been handled often and loved well. In its imagined history, Shorty salvaged circus posters and flyers, gathering remnants into this vibrant, rain-soaked archive.

The book is also scented with a warm buttered popcorn oil, which diffuses that unmistakable scent of vintage carnivals: nostalgic, familiar, and just a little bit magical.
